We are a dynamic group of writers who meet on the last Saturday of each month, except July and December. In July, an Annual Award Luncheon is held at a chosen venue. If you live in Johannesburg you may want to join as well.

We meet at Elphin Lodge on Modderfontein Rd near the Edenvale Hospital. (That’s in- between Modderfontein and Sandringham). Time: 1:30 for 2pm. We run until 4 or 5 pm, breaking for refreshments after hearing a guest speaker, then we attend to club business. This is always done in a very informal manner.
Guest speakers: These include novelists, journalists, poets, publishers and professors of literature among others. Competitions: Writers 2000 holds a 200 word competition every month to “Get the Juices Flowing”. Judging is done by fellow-members. Members may request friendly critiques by their peers, if desired.
